Boys Basketball
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The season kicks off in mid November and runs through early March.
The 4th grade plays a 10 game schedule (no playoffs) while grades 5-8 play a 12 game regular season. Games generally take place on the weekend but weeknight games are a distinct possibility given the premium on gym availability. There are playoffs for grades 5th through 8th.
The goal is for all teams to practice once per week based on coach and gym availability. Uniforms are ordered via the registration process. Please note that we conduct evaluations in early October but they are only used to help us split up the teams appropriately. There are no cuts, so all eligible participants will make a team but we typically field one competitive team in grades 5-8.
We expect enough interest to field 2-3 teams per grade but that is only possible if we have a sufficient numbers of volunteers. Coaches are currently needed across all grade levels so please contact Joe Grimpel at [email protected] if you’re interested in helping out.
Practices are expected to start the week of October 14th with games starting a month later. Keep an eye out for an intro communication from your son’s coach at some point during the week of October 7th.
REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2024-25 CYO Boys Basketball season will be open through the month of September.
The program is open to boys entering 4th through 8th grade this September who meet the Nassau-Suffolk CYO eligibility requirements. To be eligible to play for St. Anne’s a player MUST satisfy at least one of the following criteria:
- Be a registered member of the parish (i.e. attend Faith Formation)

CYO is extremely strict about these parameters so if you do not meet one of the above requirements, your son will not be eligible regardless of whether he has participated with us in the past.
